After having a great time on Dreamflight 2022 in The Jedi Group, Emilie wanted to fundraise for this year’s trip. She decided to swim in Weymouth Harbour … on Christmas Day!
In 2021 Emilie’s life changed when she was diagnosed with kidney and bone disease, resulting in lots of hospital tests, treatment and medication. At that time, her Consultant Paediatrician (Dr Phil) nominated her for a trip on Dreamflight.
Emilie said: ‘Through my Paediatrician, I was lucky enough to be nominated for a place with Dreamflight 2022 to go to Orlando, which changed my life again but this time for the better. I have made lifelong friends, memories which will last forever and it has helped me feel much happier about my condition’.
Not only did Emilie brave the icy waters, she made her Mum Nicola do it too! A huge well done to Emilie and Nicola, who have raised over £1500 for this year’s trip.
