On the 21st December 2013, Jon, Pete and Martin, three remarkable British Airways cadets arrived at Heathrow after a 21 day cycle ride from Southern Spain raising a staggering £7,910
The team received an outstanding level of support throughout their journey. In their own words “The number of people following us on Twitter, reading our daily Facebook updates and particularly the kind donations we have received have amazed us, thank you to all who supported us.”
On behalf of the two children who will be on the Dreamflight trip because of all your efforts, a heartfelt thanks goes out to you guys. It sounds an incredible adventure and we are very grateful for every hill you climbed!
Here’s a little glimpse of what it took to raise these fabulous funds….
“The Spanish portion of our journey kept us to the east of Seville and the west of Madrid before turning north east towards Pamplona. Throughout Spain we encountered tricky hills, mountains and some bone-chilling temperatures. On day 10, after a day of rest day in Pamplona, we carried on north east to cross the border and spent night 11 in Espelette, France. The flats of the French coastal roads allowed us to increase pace, before we met more hills northof Nantes. On day 19 we crossed from Caen to Portsmouth by Ferry and started our two-day, final push to Heathrow – the finishing line!”
