Leaving a legacy

Leave a smile behind – by leaving a legacy to Dreamflight

We know how important your loved ones are and that you will want to take care of them beyond your lifetime.  But – after providing for them – even a small percentage of your estate (or a small set amount) could make a significant impact on one of our Dreamflight children’s lives.

Dreamflight has given a special trip to thousands of children and we would love to continue doing so for years to come.  If you feel that you could help us – by remembering Dreamflight in your Will – we would be incredibly grateful.

You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a legacy – even a small amount would provide something fun on the trip for a very deserving child.

Legacy FAQs

  • Make a list of everything you own, including property and investments, and decide who you would like as your executors. These are the people who should carry out the wishes in your Will.
  • Decide who you would like to include. Once you have provided for your loved ones you might also like to think about leaving a percentage of your estate to Dreamflight (or a set amount).
  • Contact a solicitor to write your Will so that the legalities are properly covered.

A solicitor will be able to advise you about updating your current Will, or completing a codicil; which will be kept with your Will.

If you’re thinking about writing or updating your Will, all you need to do is get in touch with your solicitor and provide them with the wording below.

Residuary gifts (a percentage of your estate)

A Residuary gift is a gift of all or part of the balance of your estate, after other specific bequests have been made to family and friends and after all your liabilities have been settled.

If you would like to leave a residuary gift, please use this wording:

I give all (or a ___% share of) the residue of my estate to Dreamflight (Registered Charity nos 1117303/SCO44892), for its general charitable purpose and I declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other proper officer shall be sufficient discharge for the same.

Pecuniary gifts

If you would like to leave a specific amount or item (a Pecuniary gift), please use this wording:

I give to Dreamflight (Registered Charity nos 1117303/SCO44892) the sum of £___ for its general charitable purpose and I declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other proper officer shall be sufficient discharge for the same.
