For children living with a serious illness, condition or disability, childhood can look very different.

Long hospital stays.
Missing school.
Struggling to make friends.

Many children feel left out and left behind, relying on others for even the smallest everyday tasks. Over time, this can knock their confidence, limit their independence, and impact what they believe is possible for their future.

With your help, we can change that.

Our UK adventure holidays give children and young people with even the most complex needs a chance to experience activities many may take for granted – zip-lining, horse riding, swimming, playing games and sharing a sleepover with a new friend.

For these children, these aren’t just regular activities. These are moments of freedom, independence and belonging.

In a world where they’re often told they can’t, this is their chance to say “I can”.

Supported by experienced medical professionals, children are encouraged to embrace their disability and challenge themselves in a safe environment, increasing their confidence and self-belief.

Next year, we want to deliver two life-changing trips to accessible activity centres and double the number of young people we’re supporting through these UK adventure weekends.

Meet Charlie

Charlie was 12 years old when his world changed overnight. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, life quickly became a routine of planning, monitoring, injections and hospital visits.

Every daily task, from eating to exercise, now needed careful supervision and management by his parents.

Charlie, who is also autistic, struggled to come to terms with a lifelong condition that limited his freedom. Since his diagnosis, Charlie hadn’t spent a single day or night away from his parents.

Going to Calvert Devon with Dreamflight changed everything. For the first time ever, with the support of expert medical volunteers, he was safely given the freedom to manage his diabetes on his own.

Charlie returned home with happy memories, but more importantly, he returned with confidence and independence.
