Dreamflight operates with a tiny staff team in Chesham and a huge amount of wonderful volunteers who help on our trips, fundraise and support in many ways! We are now on the lookout for any volunteers who would like to support us with their specialist skills outside of our trips.
Listed below are the key areas we are looking for, but if you feel that you have some time, enthusiasm and specialist skills that could be useful, please do get in touch!
Translation:
Do you have a second language? Every year in the lead up to the trip, we have some children and families where English is the second language, and sometimes we have visas/passports/general logistics of the trip to discuss – we would love to make sure that we are making things as easy as possible, and therefore want to draw up a “translators list” of volunteers who may want to support on an adhoc basis from time to time to attend meetings, or calls. The time commitment is not expected to be huge, and it would save us needing to pay for translation services in the future.
Technology:
Are you passionate about emerging technologies and interested in supporting our wonderful volunteer Tech Lead on key projects? As a small charity, we punch above our weight on the tech front. We’ve built a presence in AWS and Azure and are migrating legacy tools and processes to serverless technologies.
We’re looking for skills in (but not limited to):
- Serverless app/microservice development
- Cyber security
- PHP/NodeJS/Python developers
- Databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- DevOps/SecOps
- Salesforce integration
Project management:
Throughout the year we have projects running to help us improve how we do things, introduce new processes or sometimes manage events. The people working on these projects are usually a mix of experienced Dreamflight volunteers and staff; however, it would be extremely helpful to have some project management expertise to help with running projects and activities. Meetings are generally held out of working hours.
