Chris Glencourse has taken on an amazing adventure in honour of his daughter Mirren, who joined us on Dreamflight in 2014. You can see Mirren pictured here with her regional Dreamflight group, the Dolphins!
Earlier this year Chris, his wife and son Evan joined Mirren at a special screening of a video of Mirren’s trip at a cinema in Sheffield, and was so impressed at what he saw he decided he had to do something special in return.
‘It’s no coincidence that since Mirren returned from Dreamflight it is the longest time she’s been out of hospital in the last five years, and the friends she has made and the positive impact on her has been amazing.’
‘I want to try and give another child the chance to experience what my daughter did last year. If I can help just one other deserving child have an amazing trip to Florida it will be totally worthwhile.‘
The usual Land’s End to John O’Groats route is 870 miles, but Chris has extended his trip to 1,100, as a national property manager at Burnley-based Original Factory Shop, he wants to visit outlets on route and encourage colleagues and friends to support his cause!
Chris set off from Scotland on Saturday June 20 and aims to cover 100 miles a day, finishing in Lands End on Tuesday 30th June.
