An amazing trio has just completed their 322-mile cycle ride from Ruabon, Wrexham to Polruan, Cornwall, in memory of a very special young man, Will Lewis.
Will joined us on Dreamflight in 2013, and we’re so grateful to his friends and family who have continued to fundraise for Dreamflight according to Will’s wishes.
Polruan was chosen as the destination because it was Will’s most favourite place in the world, his Grandparents house. Will’s two older brothers Sam and Kris and their uncle Matt organised the trip entirely themselves. The boys mother Helen commented ‘I’m so proud of them, none of them are exactly Bradley Wiggins but they have been training and are very enthusiastic because they know how much Dreamflight meant to Will’.
All the hard work paid off and we’re delighted to say ‘they made it’! There were punctures, wrong turns, sore legs and sunburn along the way but they completed this huge challenge, raising a fantastic total of over £1655, and the money is still coming in. Thank you guys, we hope you’re thrilled, we are!
The fun doesn’t stop there though… plans already underway for a team to take on the Three Peaks Challenge this September. There are 20 people already interested and the aim is to raise £7,000 to pay for two Very Important Children’s places on Dreamflight this October. Find out more here!
