Captain Matt Griffiths has completed a number of marathons and raised over £1300 in aid of Dreamflight. Matt completed the Royal Parks Ultra (a 50km route through London’s royal parks) on 7 th October 2012 with a fantastic time of 4hrs, 14 minutes securing him 19th place out of 165 runners. Matt is now onto his next challenge, a marathon relay in aid of Dreamflight…. A group of runners who met in the virtual world and provided mutual support, encouragement and motivation for each other have decided to meet in the real world for the first time and have created a marathon relay, three teams with 4 runners in each. Their group is called The Hairy Haggis Team Relay in Edinburgh www.justgiving.com/DreamflightRelay
Matt’s children have been supporting him by collecting money locally and at School and his son aged 11 recently completed his first 5K with his Dad – like father like son Matt says they will be running marathons together one day!
