Raising money in a good cause is great fun! We have gratefully benefited from all the traditional ways of raising money, ranging from the smaller events like coffee mornings, jumble sales, treasure hunts and so on, through to the big and ornate events like formal balls and golf tournaments. But we have also seen a few more unusual ideas, like sponsored parachute jumps, sponsored Christmas decorations and even sponsored having-all-your-hair-shaved-off!

Some of the best ideas are the simplest, and the most environmentally friendly. We’ve benefited from the collecting of empty tin cans and selling them for scrap, and also from sales of second-hand paperback books. Try to find a win/win opportunity….if somebody wants something that somebody else wants to get rid of….there’s the start of an opportunity!
